The Helpful Links Page
This site discusses various hardware and software that I use to make my Personal Weather Station and Weather Website work. If you
are setting up a Personal Weather Station, Weather Cameras, Security Cameras or Streaming Video, then this is your candy store.
This page gives you an index to get to all the 3rd party stuff I have been showing you and discussing on this site. If I missed
something, let me know and I will add a link to get it.
Acu-Rite: The main place I shop for Personal Weather Station (PWS) Hardware!
By the way, look Acu-Rite up on Facebook. If you look around their Facebook page, they usually have a place that
gives you a 10% coupon if you click on "like". Then look more, if you refer a friend they give you a better coupon.
20% off if you refer a friend using their link. You usually get the second coupon after getting the first. Is worth
looking for!! They sometimes run Free Shipping deals too, look for it!
You can also find Acu-Rite on Amazon and at Home Depot, but unlike most other companies, their website is usually cheaper.
Especially if you find their 20% off coupon.
Hobby Boards: The main 1-Wire sensor store I use.
If you want to add sensors to your Acu-Rite PWS... Sensors that Acu-Rite currently does not make... Hobby Boards is a cool place
to shop. My lightning detector and Solar Radiation sensors were both purchased from Hobby Boards. Hobby Boards
sells 1-Wire sensors that follow the 1-Wire protocol developed by Dallas Semiconductor.
Weather Display: Add-On this software. Works very well with the Acu-Rite that has a PC-Connect monitor or an Acu-Rite Bridge.
If you have a PC-Connect monitor and want to Rapidfire to Weather Underground, you need this. Even if you just want to
see a ton of reports and graphs from your Weather Station. You need this software. This is the software that helps make my website
This software is not Free, but it has a 30 day fully functional trial! At the time of my writing this, it is only $70.00
to buy it and it is one of the most useful add-on's that I have purchased for my station.
Kevin Key's Acu-Rite Bridge Reader: If you own a Acu-Rite Bridge, This is highly recommended Software... and it is FREE!
If you have opted to use the Acu-Rite bridge to connect your PWS to the Internet, this add-on is a must. It allows you to use
Weather Display software or simply rapidfire to weather underground, WeatherBug and more without adding any additional $$ software.
Steel Gauges: The gauges that display live readings from my sensors on my website.
Unless you are highly skilled in programming, you will need the Weather Display software or similar supported software to make
these gauges work. Read about these gauges in the ABOUT section of this site prior to downloading or your head just might
Generic Browser Interface for MJPEG PTZ Camera: Very cool code to get your website to stream video from your IP Camera.
If you have an IP camera such as Loftek, Foscam and others, this might be the perfect FREE software for you to get your cameras
to stream live on your Website.
ChangeIP.com: Get a FREE Dynamic DNS Internet address.
ChangeIP.com allows you to use their domain names and will point the address to your personal IP number. For example,
I get www.lciuw.com from them for FREE, and when you type www.lciuw.com you arrive at my PC in my house. This
happens because ChangeIP.com performs a really cool FREE service.
Weather Underground History Script: and other scripts to embed content in your webpage!.
I use the Weather Underground History script to create the history with graphs page. Creates a Weather Underground type page
to display todays readings and the complete history of readings sent to Weather Underground.
Flo The Geek: A Raspberry Pi Enthusiast!.
Florian has some Raspberry PI tutorials to help you get your projects on track. Learn how to do night sky photography and
timelapse techniques. He also has some cool timelapse photos and videos of the sky, including the "Super Moon" of
September 2015. The website is in French, but if you visit with Google Chrome as your browser, it can translate it to
English for you.
